Vanguard Council
AIMA® is an important voice in Education. Its strength and greatest value lies in the Vanguard Council (VC), the research arm of AIMA® and the mechanism that drives innovation and change in Islamic Montessori Education (IME®). Scientific research is essential to the identification of best practices and for the development of quality standards in Islamic Montessori schools around the nation. The Vanguard Council is designed to support the participation of those who wish to contribute to the growing library of research in IME®. By pairing serious researchers with ready pools of subjects who are active in qualified Montessori environments, the Vanguard Council creates the nexus that is essential in order to establish and expand a comprehensive repository for scientific research in IME®.
Participation
Any AIMA® member in good standing is eligible for participation in the VC. There are three ways to become involved:
- Montessori Educators play an essential role through the collection of data within their own IME® classrooms;
- Montessori School administrators contribute by nominating their schools as qualified sites for IME® research, and by supporting the data collection efforts of their school personnel;
- Researchers and scholars investigate, study and catalyze raw data into valuable research that informs best practices and guides quality standards in IME® schools.
